Reviews - What do customers think about Survival Notes for Graduates: Inspiration for the Ultimate Journey?
Great Gift for the Graduate!!! May 13, 2004
An entertaining and educational book that the Graduate will actually enjoy reading. It contains Biblical advice on many different subjects that a Graduate will be facing as they leave the nest and head to college. Inspirational adivce to give your Graduate strength and support.
Well written, sound advice without being "preachy". May 11, 2004
This is a well written book that every Grad needs to read. It is "to the point information" on 100 subjects that eveyone who is starting out in the world will face. It is not a dissetaion to straighten out all of life's issues. It is short and sensible information that is Biblical based. It is enjoyable and very readable. The quotes from scripture and some of the greatest minds in history make the value of this book even more. I know that there are a lot of "books for graduates" out there, however this one is more than trite niceties and poems. I recommend this book for parents, youth workers, grads, and even teens who "already know it all." I found this book to be an excellant read. This one is not only on the gift list, it will be on my library shelf.
Heartwarming May 8, 2004
This is a great book, not only for graduates, but parents and grandparents, as well. It is a book that you will want to read again and again. Every time you read it something new seems to catch your attention. While reading it I thought of all of the young people and the impact it will make on their lives. I am sure that this book will help some of them change their mind about dropping out of college. They will see that they are not the only ones who may be struggling with problems. This book can give them hope and the desire to stay in there and complete the journey to being a college graduate.
I want to thank Robert for sharing the journal he and his daughter wrote while she was in college. It takes a lot to be willing to share those precious personal journal entries with the world. Please continue writing books like this. Our world needs more honest, sincere, God loving authors like you.
It was OK May 4, 2004
I'm graduating this month. Someone gave the book to me. I read the first few sections. It was OK. I guess you just have to live some things to know about them, but honestly I don't know that this book will help me next fall as I adjust to college life. I mean, I've been to campuses and have visited friends in college. I've talked with my friends and all that. They are not wild or anything like that. I'm just saying that the book is like string cheese. You can stretch good things out of it, I guess, but it is still cheese.
Hugs from Dad Apr 24, 2004
These notes from Dad to his daughter in college are written like a youthful version of 'Chicken Soup for the Soul'. They provide encouragement and direction for youth in a fearful world that has lost it's direction. Like Mom's chocolate chip cookies, there is nothing better.
