Reviews - What do customers think about Psychiatry Essentials for Primary Care?
Practical, specific advice for diagnosing and treating mental health problems for the non psychiatrist May 5, 2008
Dr. Schneider's book contains a wealth of easily accessible, research-based information for diagnosing and treating psychiatric problems in a primary care setting. It is not only relevant for primary care pratitioners but I think also for a well informed lay public. The text is easy to reference and practical to use on a day-to-day clincal basis. This book is a timely contribution of synthesized knowledge to the complex emerging field of psychiatry in primary care.
Psychiatry for non-psychiatrists Mar 26, 2008
An excellent resource for any non-psychiatrist provider who cares for patients on a regular basis. As a sleep medicine physician I found it very helpful for my daily practice as many of my patients have components of psychiatric problems. It is written in a very clear and concise style and is very easy to understand. There are many references to current data and studies that a non-psychiatrist would be unfamiliar with. The sections on drug treatment are also excellent. I feel I can better take care of my patients because of the material in this book. I highly recommend this book for all primary care physicians as well as specialty physicians who may see patients in a primary care role. I wish all medicine texts were this good!
