Item description for A Faith for Grown-Ups: A Midlife Conversation About What Really Matters by Robert P. Lockwood...
Overview Approximately thirty percent of baby boomers were baptized and raised Catholic. After years of practicing a religion that seemed dry and rigid, many iboomersi drifted away from the faith. A Faith for Grown-Ups reintroduces Catholicism to those seeking to reconnect with their faith. With wit and keen understanding, Lockwood explores the common experience of growing up Catholic from the 1950s through the 1970s and invites disconnected Catholics to encounter a faith for grown-ups. Writing from an adult perspective for an adult audience, Lockwood covers all the major aspects of Catholicism and offers practical suggestions for cultivating an adult faith. In personal stories, both humorous and heartrending, Lockwood traces his personal pilgrimage from the Catholicism of his childhood to the rich, meaningful spirituality of his adulthood.

A very well written and interesting book. Very helpful to explore your faith as an adult.
Welcomes you back home Dec 20, 2004
Thank you Robert Lockwood for gently reminding me that the childhood Catholic school experiences from the '60s were of a different time and place, and that the church has much to offer "grown-ups." As someone who left the church in my early 20s and then went back 30 years later, I must say that this book helped light my path. His anecdotes are written with humor (the 40-hour devotion is laugh-out-loud funny) and serve to illustrate his points beautifully. This book is readable and inspirational. Thanks.
