Very little practical use May 23, 2007
As a Research & Development Engineer who has been in this field for 10 years, I decided to buy this book. As it turns out, there is very little in this book that is of practical use if you a)- want to design transformers; b)- optimize the product to reduce cost. Don't buy it.

If the transformer's principles have been explained in more words in Blume "Transformer Engineering", in more simple physical equations in Karsai "Large Power Transformers", they are explained in a systematic physical and mathematic methods in this book. In such way, faults currents, mechanical streses, load losses and high voltage insulation are formularized.
