Reviews - What do customers think about Things Got in the Way?
Too Many Things in the Way Jan 3, 2008
The farm boy from Connecticut could have been the greatest hitter in baseball, but fate and people work against him. Coaches resent his superiority and independence and refuse to support him. Then an accident ends his athletic career. The protagonist succeeds in other areas, though, so his story is not a tragedy. The author is too didactic in trying to prove that there are more important aspects of life than the money and fame to be won in pro sports.
