Reviews - What do customers think about Growing in Joy: 31 Meditations for a Life in Abundance (99 Words to Live By S.)?

Zest for Living and Hope in Dying  Sep 14, 2006
Morneau, the auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Green Bay, describes the virtue of joy in one sentence. It is a habitual action leading to "the enlargement of life for oneself and others in that its expansive energies give us zest in living and hope in dying." He describes joyous persons as creative, accepting, and capable of living in the present. Each of the 31 meditations is divided into three sections: listen, reflect, and respond. The first of these consists of a joy-related message from the likes of Mother Teresa, Anne Morrow Lindbergh, and John Paul II. Morneau provides the reflection, which closes with a suggested activity, as "Ponder the last couple of days, and consider what you have done that would make God smile." The response is a prayer related to the topic.

This small yet rich resource is ideal for individual use. In addition, a faith-sharing group could select any section to open or close its meeting or start a discussion.
