Item description for The Rapture Question Answered: Plain and Simple by Robert Van Kampen...
Overview As we stand on the threshold of a new century, interest in the end times is increasing and the critical questions every student of end time prophecy must come to terms with are these: How should Scripture be understood when it speaks of Antichrist - literally or allegorically? And if Antichrist and his persecution are for real, will the church have to undergo this terrible time of persecution, or will she be removed - raptured - before this time of great tribulation begins? Theological thinkers across America today are hotly debating these burning question.
Publishers Description How should Scripture be understood when it speaks of Antichrist--literally or allegorically? And if Antichrist and his persecution are for real, will the church have to undergo this terrible time of persecution, or will she be raptured? The Bible could not be clearer as to the answers of these critical question. The Rapture Question Answered points readers to those answers in a readable, lay-level style that does not sacrifice the importance of scholarship.

Reviews - What do customers think about The Rapture Question Answered: Plain and Simple?
It's what Jesus taught-plain and simple Jan 13, 2007
I learned about this book after taking a class that introduced me to the simple truth that Jesus taught, which is there will be signs in the heavens and on earth, before he returns again to gather believers to Himself. I was taught the theology of an any second (pretrib) "rapture" growing up. When I was old enough to read and understand the Bible for myself, this theology unraveled before my eyes because it wasn't in the Bible anywhere! How confusing for a teenager. What Van Kampen has done with his books is to restore my faith in the validity of the Bible. All of the contradictions of the pretrib theology that can only be explained away by "advanced interpretations" of the Bible aren't an issue when God's true message about His second coming is understood.
This book is a great complement to The Sign. It concentrates on the timing of the rapture where The Sign paints a bigger picture of end time events.
A hidden Treasure of end time books Jan 4, 2007
I found this buried in a discount bin! Not with all the other so called popular christian authors. The truth is not popular! Our 'end times' culture has been fatefully smeared by the 'pre trib' theory. This book tries to undo the mess that it has caused. And lets us look to the bible instead of the magority. The devil really is a good liar (John 8:44)
Why continue to be deceived? Jun 28, 2006
The pre-wrath view is wrong, as it places the rapture with the first trumpet of Revelation, when the seventh seal is opened, but Paul states clearly that the rapture will follow the start of the sounding of the "last trumpet", which could only be the seventh trumpet in the Revelation... Although Rosenthal's pre-wrath view is closer to the truth than is pretribulationism, it is still in error. Tim Cohen demonstrates this clearly, and much more in his works; he's got it right (see the mentioned works below).
Tim LaHaye, Jerry Jenkins, and others in the Pre-Trib circle, such as Ed Hindson, Tommy Ice, Chuck Missler, Zola Levitt, Thomas McCall, John Hagee, Grant Jeffrey, Marlin Maddox, Perry Stone, Texe Marrs, John Walvoord (deceased), etc., continue to put forth the same deceptions that Hal Lindsey popularized decades ago. The notion of a pre-tribulation rapture is foreign to scripture, it is foreign to the teachings of the early Church, and it is grooming the Church for destruction through ignorance and lack of preparation for what is really coming. These men are novices and not prophecy "experts" or "scholars" by any stretch of the imagination; they are those who tickle the ears of gullible Christians. Why continue to be deceived? Tim Cohen, in his excellent book, "The AntiChrist and a Cup of Tea," provides biblically sound and testable evidence to show that the coming AntiChrist is known NOW. Not only that, the same author (Tim Cohen) has now put out the strongest presentation on the whole issue of the rapture EVER offered to the saints of God in Christ: "The REAL Rapture". If you really want to know the truth about the timing of the coming rapture, then you need to hear Tim Cohen's "The REAL Rapture" (based on a volume in his forthcoming "Messiah, History, and the Tribulation Period" series (see Prophecy House's site for details on these items, which are also available via this site).
As you can see...... Feb 28, 2006
I'm going to be frank and to the point.....as you can see by the so-many-different-views on this subject, it will remain a mystery on when actually the Lord will come for His Church. Insulting Mr. Van Kampen is something that I would think is beyond a Christian to do...however, the devil speaks through alot of so-called believers. I have read the book and tried to disprove it. I wound up being a believer in the pre-wrath position. I have had several e-mail debates with the likes of Hal Lindsey and other "pre-trib" teachers and they could never answer the hard questions. I will pose one here: Why the warning to the Church in 2 Thess 2:1? Why warn someone about the coming of the antichrist if we are not going to be here? Also, Christ will not come until the antichrist is reveiled and sets up his kingdom first. Once the antichrist has given the world it's "peace", destruction will come upon THEM suddenly - like a thief in the night. We are not sons of darkness. people really need to read AND study the Bible instead of simply believing in someones teaching thinking that it's true. The devil has been lying from the beginning. Do you think that he has NOT infiltrated the Church? Do you think that he wants you to know the truth about the Rapture?? I'll give you a thought....what if someone comes to Earth claiming that he is the Messiah and brings peace to Isreal? (remember the Jews are still waiting for the Messiah) What if this someone proclaims himself to be God and the Jews blindly follow?? You see, if the Rapture does not happen "pre-trib" as most teach, there will be mass confusion in the Church. "Where's Jesus" will be uttered by many as the world proclaims "where is this Jesus and His coming???" Don't be fooled. We will be here. Jesus will be delayed, like the groom was. He will come for us, we are instructed to be patient and endure - until the Coming of the Lord. In conclusion, buy the book. It will open your eyes if you are willing.
This book makes the timing of the Rapture crystal clear. Sep 22, 2005
After reading Mr. Kampen's another book "The Sign", I came to this book as an additional effort to solve my own Rapture puzzle. It is by God's mercy and grace that my eyes were opened wide to see the truth in God's Word regarding the timing of the Rapture of God's elect. I am grateful for Mr. Kampen's remarkable work on this subject through this book, and ultimately for God's mercy and grace in leading me to the truth.
Now I am fully convinced that the Pre-Wrath position of the Rapture is the only valid position that has solid and explicit Scripture support. Based on Mr. Kampen's work, I put together all major Scriptures that support the Pre-Wrath position and published them on my ministry's website: heartforchrist.org
May the Lord grant you mercy and grace in your journey seeking His Truth!
