Reviews - What do customers think about Father of Faith Missions: The Life and Times of Anthony Norris Groves?
well done Jan 19, 2006
this is a very well written book covering A.N. Groves life and beliefs in regard to missions. Stories of hardship sometimes unimaginable leave you questioning the extent of his faith and if he went too far (which I dont think he did). If you could sum up this man in one word....it would be love. They discuss the Bethesda question and how Groves and R.C. Chapman are on one side and J.N. Darby is on the other. Often in the book Darby is put down and they show the ugly side of Darby's life in relation to very little mercy when it comes to accepting into fellowship. Groves loved and loved...he went seeking other Christians who had very different beliefs than him...just to prove to them that love could abound. I read a lot, and I could now say this is probably my 3rd favorite book, if not higher. :)
