More About Roald Hoffmann
Hoffmann settled in New York City after surviving the Nazi occupation and after several years of postwar wandering in Europe. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School, Columbia University, and from Harvard University with an M.A. in physics and Ph.D. in chemical physics. Since 1965, Hoffmann has been engaged in teaching and research in theoretical chemistry at Cornell University, where his now John A. Newman Professor of Physical Science. Hoffmann also writes essays on science, literature, and art.
