Reviews - What do customers think about Prayer-Centered Healing: Finding the God Who Heals?
Inspiring but with both feet on the ground Mar 16, 2001
For me this book was both a source of inspiration and an aid to getting through the tribulations of everyday life. Mathis puts forth the notion that prayer for healing is a multi-faceted concept, and that different people (and people in different life situations) can benefit from it in many ways. The book changed the way I think about prayer, and also the way in which I actually pray. I am convinced that it has not only improved some of the circumstances of my existence but also those of some of my friends. A thoughtful, centered, and not at all preachy, book.
Prayer Centered Healing of the Spirit and the Body Jan 12, 2001
Prayer-Centered Healing: Finding the God Who Heals is a book that reminds the reader that prayer is not just for healing of the body, but of the spirit as well. The author discusses the need to have a prayer centered approach when going through illness of oneself and of friends and family. The book reminds us that God does not always give us exacting what we ask for in our prayers, but will always answer in the best way to suit the overall situation. It also reminds us to ask for healing of the spirit, not just the body.
The author also discusses multiple religious practices, and their effect on healing of the body and spirit. One can integrate those principles into their own religious practices to enhance the healing process. This is an excellent book for those who are going through illnesses of themselves or others around them. It offers encouragement to the reader's soul.
