Item description for This Is My America: A Declaration of Dependence by Richard Kingsmore...
Significant works that celebrate patriotism while honoring the Author of Liberty are scarce. A careful balance of God and country, presented in a dynamic fashion, calls for meaningful songs, sensitive arrangements and a powerful overall concept.
This is my America is all this and more. Popular arranger, Richard Kingsmore, has created a package that is certain to be a useful resource as a whole, or in parts, for celebrations of Flag Day, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and worship services in which patriotism is emphasized.
The opening medley features a quote from My Country, Tis of Thee and continues with a visionary statement in O Say Can You See. The second section is introduced with a new song, This is My America and includes a unique melding of The Star-Spangled Banner, You're A Grand Old Flag, God of Our Fathers and The Battle Hymn of the Republic
The work concludes with a new song, Come Home America expressing a prayer for our nation and includes a brief passage from America, The Beautiful. Moderate SATB. Performance time; 19 minutes

More About Richard Kingsmore
Dove award nominee, Richard Kingsmore, is considered one of the foremost arrangers and orchestrators in Christian publishing today. He has been arranging, orchestrating and producing music for the past 30 years through companies like Word, Lifeway, Lillenas, Brentwood Benson, Integrity, PraiseGathering, Alfred, Hal Leonard, Praisecharts and many more. Music ministers and publishers around the country have come to associate his name with quality arrangements for choir, orchestra, praise band, and piano. He is a highly sought-after clinician at churches and conferences across the country and as a freelance arranger and orchestrator.
Richard is also the president of a music production company, Kingsmore MusicWorks, Inc., where the vision is to create music that inspires. As part of this vision, he launched a popular new orchestra series called, NextGen Orchestra. The idea for this series was born out of a need to bridge the gap between the orchestra and praise band in our worship services. This series fits that need as it combines the modern sounds of worship music today with the orchestra in creative ways.
A native of El Paso, Texas, Richard began playing the piano at the age of six and studied music at Samford University, the University of Alabama, and Eastman School of Music. He started his career by traveling and performing with the group Truth and later began working as a freelance musician for Disney World in Orlando, FL. His love for the piano continues today as he writes and performs his own signature style music for solo piano. For over a decade now, he has also been directing Vertical Generation, a 180+ member high school worship and arts ministry that leads students to worship and show compassion locally, nationally, and internationally. He and his wife Gina live in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
