Item description for A Faith That Frees: Catholic Matters for the 21st Century by Richard G. Malloy...
Overview How the practice of Catholicism can transform culture and foster a world of justice and joy, peace and prosperity, liberty and love. "If you were accused of being Catholic, is there enough evidence to convict you?" That's a question Fr. Rick Malloy poses to his undergraduate students at St. Joseph's University and to people in the pews. But he does more than challenge them; he clarifies what their faith really means, how it has the power to set them free, and how they can be a leaven in society and culture. Fr. Malloy speaks to all Catholics who are neither ideologically "left" nor "right" but simply seeking to understand and live the gospel in a world of confusion, violence, and excess. He brings to life a Catholicism that does justice and a faith that forgives. He brings a positive and enthusiastic point of view that is more needed than ever.

Reviews - What do customers think about A Faith That Frees: Catholic Matters for the 21st Century?
A unique and much-needed approach to the Catholic faith... May 2, 2008
As a young Catholic, I found this book to be extremely insightful. Not only did Malloy intelligently and humorously address some of the Church's most pressing concerns, he also inspired further "digging" into one's faith. Challenging and timely, "A Faith That Frees" is one of the most satisfying reads concerning faith that I've come across so far.
Simply Great Mar 11, 2008
This is a very insightful, meaningful and fulfilling read. If you are Catholic this is a very important read. You will find that your relationship with God will be stronger and your love of your Catholic faith will be greater. If you are not Catholic I would strongly encourage you to read this book because I truly believe that most non-Catholic's don't fully understand what Catholic's believe (perhaps Catholic's as well don't either), and this book clarifies those misconceptions.
