Item description for Zechariah (Reformed Expository Commentary) by Richard D. Phillips...
Overview The Book of Zechariah records the prophetic message of Zechariah to the community that had returned to Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile and was charged with rebuilding the temple and city. The physical return was meant to prompt a spiritual and theological return to faith in the Lord. Zechariah called the people to such a true return and reassured them of the Lord's willingness to receive them and restore to them the promised blessings. It is a book whose eschatological perspective is of special value to Christians today who labor for reformation and long for revival.
Publishers Description Presents an eschatological perspective on the Lord's return. Valuable for Christians today who labor for reformation and long for revival.

A Christ Entrenched-Exalting-Entranced Exposition! Jan 18, 2008
I am massively humbled and thankful to God for empowering Pastor Phillips to write this commentary. The book is the product and labor of two separate preaching series through the book of Zechariah and if the preaching produced anything like the reading of the book I pray and hope that Pastor Phillips will see fit to go through Zechariah again. I could comment on the scholarly work, incredible application, accessible language and readability, but the thing I want to focus on, is the same focus of this book, Jesus. Every page preached Christ and displayed Christ as the great hope of the returning exiles and the only hope for any of us. I am hard pressed to remember a time when I have literally been sent to my knees in holy awe from a commentary...but in reading this one I spent half of my time there. Enjoy the glory of Zechariah and the wonderful reflection seen in Phillips commentary. May you become entrance with Jesus just as Zechariah was in the visions God gave Him, grace+peace
