Reviews - What do customers think about Theological Foundations for Ministry: Selected Readings for a Theology of the Church in Ministry?

A Theology for Ministry  Apr 7, 2008
Drawing upon the works and theological astuteness of men such as Karl Barth, T.F. Torrance, and Helmut Thielicke, Ray S. Anderson sets the tone for this collection of readings with his essay, A Theology for Ministry.

To comprehend ministry it is necessary to begin at the right place. Anderson takes one to these points in his essay: the ministry of God before the world began, God's ministry as it began, and his ministry as the world continues. True ministry by the church proceeds from God's ministry, as a continuation of his ministry.

Each following essay in the compendium builds upon the previous contribution, exposing the reader to a well rounded idea of the notion of ministry that can serve as a foundation upon which one may construct a personal theology of ministry.

First published in 1979, the value and effectiveness of this work is evidenced by its continuing availability to academics and the academy. I highly recommend this fine work.
