Heaertfelt poetic musings Nov 8, 2009
Having known Randy for several years prior to the events that lead to his new found talent as a poet, I consider myself most fortunate to have had many of these poems recited personally. He will sometimes stop me in the hall at the high school that we both work at or as we visit in my classroom. It always strikes me how visual his verse is whether a fun little ditty about "glitter glitter everywhere," (perhaps inspired by the goings on in my artroom) charming as children at play, fleeting moments found in nature...or the simple pleasure of a cup of tea. It is interesting that this flow of poetry began as he was recovering from what he refers to as a "brain accident." Waking in the wee hours of the morning with verse flowing is an odd side~effect but none the less a gift that all who have been graced by Randy's recitations admire and appreciate with all our hearts.
