Item description for Steeped in the Holy: Preaching as Spiritual Practice by Raewynne J. Whiteley...
Overview Steeped in the Holy seeks to reclaim the spiritual foundations for preaching, inviting clergy and students to see preparation and preaching not as an intrusion, but as an opportunity to engage with God, and to develop practices that deepen our relation with God and feed our preaching.
Publishers Description Preaching is a central task in the lives of clergy, and yet it sometimes seems as though the pressure to produce, combined with other duties of parish life, becomes a burden and contributes to the busyness that squeezes out time for spiritual practices. Steeped in the Holy seeks to reclaim the spiritual foundations for preaching, inviting clergy and students to see preparation and preaching not as an intrusion, but as an opportunity to engage with God and to develop practices that deepen a relationship with God and feed preaching.

Reviews - What do customers think about Steeped in the Holy: Preaching as Spiritual Practice?
Excellent Book For Growing Spiritual Dec 12, 2008
Instead of believing that there is a difference between sermon preparation and personal Bible reading, the author combines the idea of these becoming one. This is a rich book that all ministers should read to help develop a stronger and deeper spiritual relationship with the Lord.
