Awesome Book on Faith and Finance Mar 23, 2009
My wife and I are reading this book together. We have found it very balanced and enlightening regarding faith and finances. Many believers today are struggling with their finances, and for good reason. This book explains why believers struggle and how to get out of the struggle and enter into the rest of financial blessings by faith in God. It is God who gives us power to get wealth and we need to put Him and His kingdom first to reap the blessings that He has in store for each one of us.
I highly recommend this book and encourage those married to read it with their spouses. This book will give revelation and hope to those who are seeking answers regarding finances.
This is not a "give until it hurts" teaching. If read with a seeking spirit, it will teach you the true meaning and joy of giving. Get the book!
A true blueprint for finanancial success Oct 22, 2007
This is the best book that I have read regarding achieving financial success for christians. Most points in this book are based on actual events from the Bible with references to various scriptures. If you want to be financially free and to be able to assist others financially, then you have to get this book. You will not regret it. It even brought me back closer to God. Thanks!!!
Prosperity Gospel Jan 6, 2007
I ordered this book with questions in my mind about the content. I regret spending the money, but it did help me to understand how prosperity teachers think.
The author uses questionable hermeneutics to make his points. For example, in his three page chapter on Blessing the Poor, Pringle suggests that the story of the Good Samaritan could not have happened unless he were a wealthy man, because in today's world one would have to have substantial finances to take a half-dead person to the hospital until he recovered.
The chapter on Missions Giving is extremely thin, just three pages of statistics. Yet more space is allocated to the need to bring the tithe into the church and to pay church ministers well, and nine pages are devoted to the chapter about prosperity being the will of God.
I am not sure whether starving Christians in the developing world would be able to agree with some of the conclusions reached by the author. I know that I disagree with many of his points.
