Item description for Hop, Little Hare! by Peter Shaw Margaret Wild...
Little Hare and Grandpa were good friends. They spent a lot of time together. Grandpa had aches and pains in his joints and could only hop slowly. As for Little Hare, he hadn't yet learned how to hop. So Grandpa went hibble-hobble, hibble-hobble, and Little Hare went bump, bump, bump on his bottom. Wild's imaginative, affectionate text combined with Shaw's charming watercolor illustrations will make this a book to treasure.

Reviews - What do customers think about Hop, Little Hare!?
Hibble-hobble, let's go find a boffle bush Jul 31, 2006
Hop, Little Hare! is a lovely book that playfully captures the relationship between toddlers and the elderly. Wild's text is gentle yet insightful and its focus on rhythm and alliteration make it a joy to read aloud. Shaw's illustrations are a feature in themselves and compliment the text beautifully. His love of nature and the bush is evident throughout, yet tempered by a soft, pastel palette that little ones will respond to immediately. One question, is Grandpa's likeness to Lee Marvin in Paint Your Wagon intentional? Or perhaps it is all in my mind? Either way, well done Mr Shaw!

This is a beautiful book in which the imaginative text is matched by the creativity of the illustrations.
Children will identify with Little Hare's quest; they will love the word-play in the text and the colourful pictures.
A happy and hoppy experience.

Little Hare is surrounded by love, but not yet ready to hop. He is filled with compassion for his ailing grandpa. With reckless boldness he launches yourself into the unknown wih the biggest hop of all--his first. We all love a great quest, and that magical moment when we overcome our fears. So will any small child who encounters Little Hare. Grandpa and grandma will treasure the moments spent with Little Hares of all ages as the follow the quest of the Littlest Hare.
