Item description for Before the Dawn by Peter Hall...
Overview The year is 1313 A.D. An evil oppressor is growing more powerful with every passing day and only the fabled knights of Kelarr can stand in his way. Sir Gabriel is one of these knights and a believer in the One God. But Gabriel's faith is broken when a horrific battle ends with the knights of Kelarr running for their lives. Gabriel must find refuge for himself and a wounded friend. Just when he thinks he has found that refuge in castle Lochean he comes to realize there are many secrets in the castle and all of them are bad. On top of trying to cope with the grief and trauma of the bloody battle he went through and trying to deal with his loss of faith in God, Gabriel must battle witches, mercenaries, and even the terrifying "god" that eats men. Can Gabriel do this on his own? Or will he fall beneath the burden? Only God can save him now. Gabriel must learn to trust Him before it is too late. After all, it is always darkest Before the Dawn.

Awesome story - wonderfully written Mar 21, 2006
This book was wonderful! I'm not usually a fantasy reader, but this midevil fantasy was very well written and once I started reading it I couldn't put it down! I have read hundreds of books and this was definitely one of my favorites. The characters are engaging and the plot gripping. Even if you don't like to read, this book is worth your time!
