More About Ted Dekker & Frank Peretti
Ted Dekker (born October 24, 1962) is a New York Times best-selling author of more than twenty novels. He is best known for stories which could be broadly described as suspense thrillers with major twists and unforgettable characters, though he has also made a name for himself among fantasy fans.
Dekker was born to missionaries who lived among the headhunter tribes of Indonesia. Because his parents’ work often included extended periods of time away from their children, Dekker describes his early life in a culture to which he was a stranger as both fascinating and lonely. It is this unique upbringing that forced him to rely on his own imagination to create a world in which he belonged.
After leaving Indonesia, Dekker graduated from a multi-cultural high school and took up permanent residence in the United States to study Philosophy and Religion. Upon earning his Bachelor’s Degree, he entered the corporate world and proceeded to climb the proverbial ladder. But his personal drive left him restless and, after many successful years, he traded corporate life for wide range of entrepreneurial pursuits that included buying and selling businesses, healthcare services, and marketing.
In the early nineties while visiting a friend who had just written a book, Dekker decided to pursue a long held desire to be a novelist. Over the course of two years he wrote two full length novels before starting from scratch and rewriting both. Now fully enamored by the the process and the stories, he realized that storytelling was in his blood and a new obsession to explore truth through story gripped him anew.
He sold his business, moved his family to the mountains of Western Colorado and began writing full-time on his third novel. Two years and three novels later his first novel was published.
Dekker’s novels have sold over 5 million copies worldwide. Two of his novels, Thr3e and House, have been made into movies with more in production. Dekker resides in Austin, Texas with his wife Lee Ann and two of their daughters.

Reviews - What do customers think about House (Movie Edition)?
find the Light May 24, 2010
I read "House" for two reasons: one; because it's a Ted Dekker book; two: I kind of want to see the movie. And let me tell you I am not a fan of anything even slightly related to horror. The preview for the movie almost makes me pee my pants! How could I handle a book?! Yes I can handle suspense, but not horror. I could not set this book down. It really reaches into the heart and directly reflects the battle between evil and good that happens daily in each human heart. I have never seen nor read anything that so vividly reflects what sin does to the human heart and soul. I am so glad that I have found the Light and that the Light has penetrated the darkness that was once in me. If you ever want to "dive deep" into the waters of the human soul, anything Dekker is a good read-especially House. The end will leave you longing for change, maybe even teary. I sincerely hope that each and every one of you find the Light that can change the darkness and allow you to find your way out of this House. Another "Dekketti" masterpiece

supense thriller Feb 26, 2010
I like Frank Peretti and enjoyed this book, it is supenseful & hard to put down.
A great read that was worth it Feb 26, 2010
This combined effort of Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker is a brilliant mystery thriller that goes deeper into the human psyche than your average work of fiction. Through an unfortunate turn of events, Jack and Stephanie find themselves with 5 strangers in the Wayside Inn. Barsidious White, a crazed serial killer, attacks the Inn. There are three rules to his game: "1, God came to my house and I killed him. 2, I will kill anyone who comes to my house like I killed God. 3, Give me one dead body and I might let rule #2 slide. You have until dawn." The players of the game are tested physically and mentally to the full extent of their humanity as their survival is frantically strived for. The book gives insight into true human motive and emotion, and explores religious concepts in a radical yet inspiring and insightful way that leaves the reader stunned and amazed. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys books with religious overtones, but not to the point where it's overwhelmingly Christian. Even if Christianity isn't your thing, it is an equally amazing mystery thriller that keeps the reader on edge.
very dark but thrillling Dec 18, 2009
I am a huge Peretti fan, but was a little hesitant to read HOUSE after some of the reviews. It is definitely his darkest book (although he didn't write it alone.) It was also one of my favorites (and I don't like dark books, usually!)
As a huge Peretti fan, I could tell what was written by him and what was written by Dekker. Overall they did a masterful job of putting a seamless story together that had my eyes glued to the pages and sitting on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down!!! It was a little predictable though, probably because I've read all of Peretti's novels.
I was a little frustrated at the ending, and you may be, too. I also was frustrated that I had written a story similar to this BEFORE I ever read this book! ;) I guess it's not that original of an idea.
If you are looking for a suspenseful supernatural thriller - this is it!
