Reviews - What do customers think about Deep Woods: The Story of Robert Frost (World Writers)?

Deeply Flawed  Nov 3, 2007
As the granddaughter of the poet and a Frost scholar, I write to alert readers--especially school aged children to which it is targetted--to the serious flaws in this work. For example, it suggests that RF committed many relatives to mental institutions! Wrong! It emphasizes negative and often erroneous interpretations of the sad side of his life. It does little to encourage young readers to simply enjoy his poetry for its depth of psychological realism, its love of nature, its devotion to family, its humour, and above all its balanced view of human nature. Lesley Lee Francis (author of Robert Frost: An Adventure in Poetry, 1900-1918, Transaction Publishers
