Item description for A Dragon This Way Comes: Revelations Decrypted by Paul D. Humphries...

More than another study of Revelation-specifically reveals America's role in unfolding events and how US policy and politics will lead toward costly consequences. Detailed study of different nations and their relationship to end-time prophecies

Publishers Description
Much of history is yet to be written, or is it? A Dragon This Way Comes by author Paul Humphries proves that the most fascinating and the most mysterious often walk hand in hand. The world seems obsessed with trying to figure out what the near-term future will bring. This book is a unique analysis of the mysterious writings of the first four seals in the Book of Revelation, often referred to as ?The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.? Cryptographic techniques have never been used to decipher the symbols used in the seals. Yet in an untraditional approach, Humphries uses this technique to take a ?sterile and unbiased? approach to uncover what the seals actually mean. A Dragon This Way Comes explains what this author believes to be an upcoming global economic war and a following world war. Humphries goal is to give the reader enough information to decipher the rest of the Book of Revelation. All of this is contained in A Dragon This Way Comes

Reviews - What do customers think about A Dragon This Way Comes: Revelations Decrypted?

The 4 Horsemen of Revelation - IDENTIFIED, Finally! :-) woo hoo...!  Oct 3, 2007
The author, apparently with a strong military past, (retiring GS12 from the Pentagon) might know something about deciphering codes. He claims (and hasn't been refuted) that some past predictions came true: With 5 minutes of fame on national TV (CBS News, Nov. 1999) predictions about food prices eventually came true -even though he was initially scorned and ridiculed. When he finished the book in 1985 (he says), the former Soviet Union hadn't fallen -but later fell -as predicted. He admits that his predictions could be wrong (and that time will tell), but I personally feel no one, to date, has done a better job of decoding Revelations, the "book of mystery."

Before analyzing his analysis, we must (he says) make certain assumptions, which I shall try to paraphrase:

**Obviously, the universe couldn't have created itself, so there must be some God. Based on the past accuracy of the Bible, we must assume that God is the author of Revelations -a "divine" book.
**Revelations was written around 100 AD: Anything "predicted" must occur after then to be true.
**Although Revelations is a "mysterious" book, at or near the time of fulfillment, God would want us to be able to "decode" the symbols -or else there would be *NO* use to Him writing the book!
**The seals, themselves, must be chronological or else they have no meaning. But, since there is no timetable beyond that, each seal can take as long as God wants it.
**To make sense, if several seals are related (like these 4), what is true for one seal must be true for all. That is, if one "horse" represents a ball-team, then ALL horses must represent ball-teams.
**Dual fulfillment is possible, that is, each "symbol" can represent several things.
**We must be logical: We can't let our traditions or religious beliefs cloud our analysis.
**Revelations deals with world events: They must be assumed to be global unless otherwise stated..

Humphries claims 2 of the 7 seals have already been broken! That is, some of Revelations is already fulfilled!

Many interpretations have been published, for example, claiming the 1st horseman is Jesus, since he rides a white horse, or, perhaps the 4th horse is Islam, since it influences about ¼ of earth`s population. But Humphries proffers the most logical analysis to date. From Revelations 6, we find this:

FIRST: Color=White; Horse=? Rider=? Tool(s)=Bow-and-Crown; Job=Conquering and to Conquer, that is, win a "world" war, since we must assume prophecies are "global" in nature.

SECOND: Color=Red; Horse=? Rider=? Tool(s)=Great-Sword-aka-"long-bow"; Job=Kill people, take peace from earth.

THIRD: Color=Black Horse=? Rider=? Tool(s)=Scales/Balances; Job=Cause price of a day's food to cost a whole day's wages (see Rev. 6:6 in a more modern versions, not the KJV) -and don't hurt the oil or wine.

FOURTH: Color=Pale Horse=? Rider=? Tool(s)=Death-and-Hell; Job=Authority over ¼ of earth to kill with sword, famine, plague (pestilence, disease) -and with wild beasts.

OK, so how does Humphries face this daunting task & "decode" these symbols?

First, he sees the last seal has "authority" over ¼ of the earth. Humphries notes only the USSR (spanning MANY time zones) has enough "land-mass" to come close. With China added, the total "land-mass" (including their territories) is about 25% of Earth's total land-mass. (Humphries didn't consider "population," but Chinese and Russian populations *may comprise* 1/4th of Earth's population.) Thus, the 4th rider(s) must be China and USSR (Death and Hell), but which is which?

Humphries now points out only ONE war was global in nature: WW2. (Not even WW1 was truly global, as it covered mainly Europe.) The tools here are bow-and-crown. Since dual meaning may apply, we know a "bow" #1:May represent Hunting/Food-gathering, #2:Warfare, and #3:Recreation. The crown represents "world-leadership." Note: Humphries doesn't elucidate, but the Greek word for "Crown" here is "stephanos," not "diademata." That's relevant because some people claim the 1st rider is Christ, but the 1st-Rider doesn't wear a "royal-diadem" crown; he wears only the "victor's-crown," described by "stephanos." Also, Christ doesn't fit in with these "carnal" riders: Christ, much later, rides another white horse. So, all *these* riders must be nations.

Thus, the 1st horse is America -so, we conclude "horsemen" represent *nations*, and "horses" must represent *governments*.

Now, who's the 2nd horseman? The "long-bow" is *only* for warfare, thus the 2nd nation must *not* be a world leader in technology or economy -Only war: The only nation formed after America to constantly threaten WW3, while threatening world peace, and killing, is USSR. Since there were TWO 4th-Seal riders (Death-and-Hell), the "main" rider must be China.

Having guessed the 1st, 2nd and 4th horses (America, USSR, and China), what "horses" do they ride? Republic, Autocracy, and Oligarchy. The only other "main" form of government remaining for the 3rd horse is Monarchy.

The 3rd rider throws the world into economic chaos. The only nation fitting the time-frame (created after USSR but before China), capable of economic might, is indeed a Monarchy: Saudi Arabia.

Humphries' conclusion, using the scientific cryptology techniques learned in the military:

America, on the White horse, led WW2, and the 1st seal closed in 1945.

The former Soviet Union fell, and the 2nd seal closed in 1991. Thus, we're currently in the 3rd seal!

Saudi Arabia, with economic might, might cause the price of a day's food to cost a whole day's wages. (See Rev. 6:6 in modern versions, not the KJV.) Natural disaster or acts of terrorism could also affect the world-economy. "Don't hurt" the oil or wine? "Oil" could be literal. "Wine" represents "good-times" and luxuries, (which only the rich could afford in worldwide economic depression) or "wine" could represent prescription-drugs (to which many people are addicted). Don't hurt the oil or "good-times" or our prescription-drugs!

The likely 4th seal riders, China and Russia (Death-and-Hell), combined, possess much nuclear, chemical, and biological capacity -as well as the abilities to infect livestock with genetically engineered viruses, bacteria, etc.

Humphries has additional chapters on "how-and-why" details. The book is excellent: I read it in just several days.
Just another anti-American hit piece.  Aug 26, 2006
This is nothing more than a very thinly veiled attempt to discredit America and its' position in the world.
A Dragon This Way Comes: Revelations Decrypted  Mar 1, 2006
Paul Humphries does an excellent job of his interpetation of decrypting the book of Revelation. A very good read, close to Hal Lindsey's work.
