More About Pam Vredevelt
After twenty years of counseling experience, Pam Vredevelt, LPC, pinpointed the one question that the majority of her clients all shared: How do I let go of the negative emotions weighing me down? Now in The Power of Letting Go , she writes as someone who s been there, someone who s experienced for herself the freedom of resolving nagging emotions lingering from the past. Words from this life coach go a long way, as her primary passion is equipping the hurting in order to get unstuck and back on track, progressing toward the life of freedom that God promises to every one of His children."
Reviews - What do customers think about Letting Go of Worry and Anxiety (Letting Go)?
Mediocre book on dealing with worry and anxiety Sep 6, 2004
I would give this book a C+. Most of the passages I hilighted were not the author's thoughts, but ideas she had pulled from the Bible or other books. She does have a few original ideas, but given the book's $10 price tag I wasn't overly impressed. As strictly a counseling or self-help book, I think it falls short, perhaps an expanded Bible study version would be more appreciated.
Helpful Feb 18, 2003
I found this book to be a good resource for ideas to stop the anxiety cycle. Practical advice, a good place to start before medication. Especially helpful for Christians, includes Bible references.
For religious people only. Feb 7, 2003
Sorry but I didn't like this at all. I've read lots of helpful books on worry and anxiety, and this really is the poor man's version. It's not at all original and not particularly helpful. Overloaded with scripture, you may find it helpful if you're religious. If you're an atheist, or agnostic like myself, don't bother.
