Item description for L'aspect verbal en grec ancien Le choix des themes verbaux chez Isocrate (Bibliotheque des Cahiers de lAeInstitut de Linguistique de Louvain) by P. Lorente Fernandez...
Develops a study on the verbal tense in ancient Greek. It is suspected that the use of different verbal tenses (present, aorist, perfect and future) corresponded to very different elements of context. This volume, therefore, simplifies as much as possible the complex question of the concept of tense to focus on textual details associated with the use of different tenses. The descriptive method hopes to present the most objective account of all the findings. It is systematically based on computer resources. The field of research is limited to one author, Isocrate (436-338 B.C.E), and to only one literary genre, the Oratory Art, consisting of a large corpus of verbal forms analyzed from different points of view.
