Item description for Essential Evangelical Parallel Bible-HC (Updated) by Oxford University Press...
Featuring the New King James Version Translation (NKJV), The Message (MSG), The English Standard Version (ESV) and the New Living Translation (NLT). These four powerful translations combine to craete a unique Bible that exposes more of the nuances of God's Word.
Publishers Description The Essential Evangelical Parallel Bible enables readers to easily compare a quartet of modern translations that span the full range of approaches, from the most precise and literal to the most dynamic and reader-friendly. The New King James Version and English Standard Version permit close word-study, while the New Living Translation and The Message present the text as its earliest audiences might have experienced it. The complete texts of the four translations featured in this volume are conveniently displayed on facing pages (two translations per page), with the same set of verses on each one. The EEPB is particularly noteworthy because it is the first parallel Bible to feature the updated NLT text.

Reviews - What do customers think about Essential Evangelical Parallel Bible-HC (Updated)?
Great Bible Feb 12, 2010
Pros: Excellent Bible with 4 different translations. Easy to follow along. Great Bible for the price. Cons: The actual pages in this Bible are pretty thin. You must be very careful because the pages seem fragile.
Awesome! Jul 20, 2009
I use this as my daily Bible and I love it. I do miss the Study Bible commentaries, but the pros far outweigh the cons! I love it because my favorite version is NLT, but my pastors preach out of ESV, so this Bible allows me to participate fully while understanding the text more clearly. A MUST HAVE!
Great reference to have!! May 5, 2009
This is a great Bible to have with you. I use it at work and in discussions and private study. I don't have The Message by itself so having it with all of the others is great! I use it as a commentary mostly. I just like being able to see how different translations treat passages without having to have three Bibles open at once next to each other or having three different Biblegateway.com windows open at once.
I wish that there was some way to make it smaller and lighter because I would carry it around more often. But, I don't see how and still have opaque pages and readable text. I think Oxford University Press did a wonderful job getting this much Bible in such a "small" package.
Parallel Bible Apr 27, 2009

Biblical Review Apr 27, 2009
this parallel version of the bible presents it in a great format. Each version is side by side and easily followed. there are also references which makes it great for following up and gaining that deeper understanding.
