Reviews - What do customers think about The New Joy Of Teaching Discovery Bible Study (New Joy of Discovery)?
Basic Inductive Bible Study Aug 1, 2007
At the time I am writing this only one other reviewer has commented. I used this book 20 years ago in a conservative Christian college for a "BASIC" Bible Study methods class. I plan to use it again for a church Bible Study course. No, this is not advanced hermeneutics dealing with "sensus plenior" or "sensus pregnans." That's not what this book is designed to do. If you are looking for a good, solid introduction to basic inductive Bible study, this is a great text for that. If you're looking for something deeper, check out D.A. Carson's Exegetical Fallacies. Blessings!
Unhelpful Dec 21, 2006
Everything that is in this book is found in other biblical study books. Her material is not new or helpful. It is surface level at best. Read other texts on biblical study if you want to grow in your ability to do quality exegesis.
