Reviews - What do customers think about The New Joy of Discovery in Bible Study?
Become a more observant reader Sep 8, 2005
Oletta Wald's "Joy of Discovery" is a brilliant resource for people who want to improve their Bible study. Both individuals and groups, beginners and advanced readers, students and teachers can benefit tremendously. (See companion volumes too.)
This book is NOT a commentary, but presents a variety of simple methods and tools for reading the Bible more attentively and observantly. The observant reader, in turn, is better able to ask the questions necessary for sound interpretation and understanding.
This book will not teach you everything you need to know in order to interpret and understand Scripture, but it will teach you many essential basics that everyone should know but many people never learn.
Because the book is not a commentary, anyone can effectively use the methods and tools in this book to study Scripture, regardless which church or religious community he or she belongs to. It even helps improve skills for reading books other than the Bible.
