Item description for Muddy Shoes by Norman Evans...
Overview This inductive Bible study explores the character of women in the Old and New Testaments to see the relationship these women had with God. The in-depth twelve-week study examines events that revealed the strengths and weaknesses of women in the Bible so that those living today can learn from their obedience as well as from their mistakes. Many practical application questions are considered so students are challenged to grow stronger in their faith and in their walk with the Lord. The study provides a number of options for completing the lessons. The study also offers a reflection in Scripture to provide a time of worship as a conclusion to the daily lesson. When a group is meeting weekly to discuss the lessons, each student will benefit from the review discussions suggested in the accompanying leader's guide.

Must read for horsepeople! And for those who want a long marriage. May 13, 2007
Norm Evans book is a very enjoyable read. I also happened to know Norm back in the mid seventies when he and I both worked at my family's track, Beulah Park (grove City, Ohio). As a matter of fact, Norm married me and my bride Carolyn almost 30 years ago (July 4th in Granville, Ohio at The Buxton Inn). He gave us some great marriage advice, "Do things together." Very simple but powerful words. We do and we're still married, thank you Norm. SIDE NOTE, and true story: I bought this book unknowingly about two days after Norm died. I read the book, then a week later I did a google search to see if he had any other books written, and to find out his address -- this is when I found out that he had died the week before. I didn't get the chance to contact him and give him hearty praise for his book. I hadn't seen or communicated with Norm since I left Beulah in April of '81. Strange that I should order his book, read it, enjoy it, then find out about his death shortly after. Norm was always a fascinating and wonderful individual, even after his death. He gave great advice and was kind to all. He really made a difference.
How a minister ended up living at the race track! Jun 22, 2004
This story is the true story of a farmer who turned American Baptist minister and ended up a missionary to the race track "trackers" and how he also became a missionary from the racetrack to the churches. God's love within a country boy helped a subculture usually rejected by their communities find God in language they could understand.
