Item description for Tomorrow Will Be Too Late: The Life of Saint Peter Julian Eymard, Apostle of the Eucharist by Norman B. Pelletier & Eugene A. LaVerdiere...

Overview
At the end of the first session of the Second Vatican Council, Pope John XXlll canonized Saint Peter Julian Eymard, the Apostle of the Eucharist. Eymard (AY-mard), however, was not born with that title. In fact, his attraction to the Eucharist evolved over a long period of time. The title of this book, Tomorrow Will Be Too Late, refers to the words he spoke to his sisters when he left the diocesan clergy to enter a missionary community. They pleaded with him to remain one more day. He replied, "God calls me now. Tomorrow will be too late." Peter Julian's entire life was a journey in faith; a journey spent discerning and responding to God's will. Eventually, after seventeen years as a Marist, he established a new religious community dedicated to the Eucharist, the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament which continues to flourish some 140 years after his death at the age of 57. His journey is both fascinating and inspiring and one with which the reader can easily identify.

Reviews - What do customers think about Tomorrow Will Be Too Late: The Life of Saint Peter Julian Eymard, Apostle of the Eucharist?

Informative, not inspirational  Apr 28, 2010
If you are looking for amazing writing and inspirational stories, look elsewhere. This book is a matter-of-fact look at the life of St. Peter Julian Eymard. I have found his writings to be tremendously inspirational and highly recommend them... so I went ahead and looked for something about the saint himself. Well, the pickings are slim in that category but this book does the job. You will read about the life and death of this Apostle of the Eucharist with a heavy focus on the founding of his religious congregation and the struggles (physically and spiritual) he faced along the way. It includes many excerpts from his correspondence and you will come away with a good idea of who the saint was and what he was about. So don't go into this expecting a wildly inspiring story. It's a lot of facts. But it served its purpose for me. Relatively short, easy read too.

Informational: yes.
Inspirational: not so much.
