Thin Paper - Text Bleed - Thru Jun 3, 2009
I have used the Scofield Study System for many years and have always found it to be accurate and helpful in my Bible studies.
I looked forward to receiving the Centennial Edition but was quite disappointed once it was in hand. The paper used for this edition is very thin and almost semi-transparent. This results in text bleed-thru (text from backside of the page is quite legible from the frontside of the page).
Text bleed-thru together with the small to moderate font size makes Bible reading and study very tiring on the eyes.
The this site description failed to display a sample of the actual printed text. If they had I feel sure I would have never ordered this particular Bible edition.
meaningful edition Feb 14, 2009
I bought this for a new believer and it has been a great study bible for him. I own the Scofield KJV leather with zipper and I love that it stays in excellent condition despite it gets tossed in the back seat of my toyota tacoma. But this Centennial Edition Scofield bible has more excellent helps, notes, maps etc.It also has genuine leather hansome cover. highly recommended.
