Item description for The Invisible Woman: A Special Story for Mothers by Nicole Johnson...
Overview "Nicole Johnson shows how being in the background of others' lives isn't necessarily less important"--Provided by publisher.
There is nothing like the pain of feeling invisible to those around you. It especially hurts when you are serving, giving, and loving, and no one seems to notice or even care.
In creating "The Invisible Woman," Nicole Johnson shows how much she understands the difficulty of living with great responsibility without receiving any recognition. Nicole puts us inside the mind and heart of Charlotte Fisher.
And as we walk through Charlotte's story of feeling invisible, we experience the comedy and loneliness of her life. The invisibility that at first feels inflicted ultimately brings her real significance and meaning.
Drawing her strength from the invisible builders of the great cathedrals, Charlotte realizes she is not invisible to God, and this simple truth changes everything for her. Faith is rekindled in her heart as she seeks to love her family in ways that only invisibility makes possible.

Looks are deceiving... Apr 1, 2006
"The Invisible Woman" is a small book with only 3 chapters. It could appear to be a quick read but don't read it quickly. Take your time and meditate on what the main character, Charlotte Fisher, discovers...small sparrows carved into a beam that no one but God will see...builders who began but would never see the finished work...people who were unknown to man but not to God. Author, Nicole Johnson understands the real power of invisibility as do many others whose names remain unknown to us.

An amazing book! Dec 11, 2005
This is an amazing book! It really gives mothers a reminder that all the little things we do really don't go unnoticed. It motivated me for the next day of motherhood, and I re-read it a lot. A great gift for new moms, or moms who just need a big spiritual hug!
Incredibly inspiring little book! Aug 2, 2005
A friend of mine loaned me a copy of her book ~~ and it came at a time when sometimes I do feel invisible! Ok, I don't feel invisible with my husband and children ~~ but among friends and other family members, I do feel underappreciated and invisible at times! This book really hit close to the heart and it is a lovely reminder that nothing I do is invisible to God!
This is a story of a woman who feels invisible ~~ her children will not acknowledge her presence sometimes and nor will her husband. She feels invisible walking among the living in her house. She mentions it to a friend of hers who was leaving for a trip to Europe. When she came back from Europe, she gives the main character a picture book on catherals. And from there, Charlotte realizes that even she isn't invisible to God.
It's incredibly inspiring and wonderful! It is a graceful reminder of God's love for you and me. It's a definite book that you will want to buy for every woman in your life ~~ and what is so nice about it is, that it's not preachy!
It's a great addition to your library and it's a thoughtful gift to share!
It will make you cry May 12, 2005
This story, written with such humility and grace, makes those moments -- when it seems what you do means nothing and that what you are has become nothing -- meaningful because God sees what we are doing and what we are building. Thank you, Nicole for this lovely little book.
