Item description for Godsdoom: The Book of Hagen by Perumov Nick...

Instead, he had ten centuries to learn new and powerful magics, knowledge he intends to use to challenge not just the Mages of his Generation who sentenced him but the very gods themselves. Reviews - What do customers think about Godsdoom: The Book of Hagen?
One of the best fantasy books Sep 2, 2008
It is indeed one of the best fantasy books from one of the most famous and readers/critics acclaimed Russian sci-fi writers.
The storyline cannot be more epic: battle of renegade mages group with gods themselves. Winners get to become/remain the universe pantheon of gods. Book can be red as a stand-along novel, even though it's a first book in the trilogy - unfortunately, the others not translated/published in English yet(?).
Author wrote over 20 best-selling (in Russia and Europe) books, over 6 millions copies printed. Try this one, enjoy and tell your friends - this is the only way to make more English publications possible.
Outstanding Jun 19, 2007
The best fantasy book I have ever read. Who would have thought that norse mythology combined with Perumov's talent for epic fantasy would produce such a magnificent combination of magic, action, battles and romance?
A must read for any fantasy lover!
Simply the best Jun 15, 2007
It's simply the best SF book published in the last 20 years. Buy it, read it, you won't regret it.
It was a good idea to translate and publish the book. Jun 15, 2007
It is one of the best author's books and quite outstanding in genre of 'epic fantasy'. I hope that the translation keeps drive and spirit of original text, its sincerity.
Permurov's Godsdoom May 23, 2007
Nick Permurov's first solo American novel, "Godsdoom," is a book that will challenge the reader, taking him into a world of unique fantasy. While one may find a hint of Zelazny, the story and style are Permurov's own, displaying a love of language, the way words fit together, their definitions and a delight in alliteration.
The reader is never quite sure who the heroes are; the Young Gods, who determine the destines of the various World levels, or the rebel Mages, who dare to challenge the status quo. And this is much of "Godsdoom's" charm. The reader is required to make his own decision, even at the conclusion.
"Godsdoom" is not an easy book, is not one that can be read casually. The author demands the reader's full participation; therefore, this book should be reserved for times when nothing will distract the reader, when there is time to savor the plot's intricacies and the characters' motivation, when the richness of the language can be enjoyed to the fullest.
