Publishers Description What principles enabled the concerned mom of two junior high school students to move from deciding she needed to pray for her kids at school to becoming the founder of a worldwide prayer movement called Moms In Touch International? Fern Nichols is a passionate believer in the power of prayer. She knows that a regular habit of prayer can change things--can bring home wayward children, heal broken marriages, and provide answers to desperate situations. Prayer can also bring a new kind of peace and contentment no matter what hardships or disappointments we face. But most important, Fern knows that through prayer we can experience, firsthand, an ever-increasing intimacy with God. In Every Child Needs a Praying Mom, Fern Nichols now shares how she has taught women to pray in a way that changes their lives and the lives of those they love. She teaches the principles and practices that will not only revolutionize the way people think about prayer, but the way they do pray, leading them into a deeper intimacy with Jesus, who is always interceding on our behalf. Sparkling with real life stories of God at work in the lives of praying moms, Fern introduces us to the four prayers that are the foundation of the Moms In Touch approach to prayer: Praise--Praying according to the attributes of God; Confession--Breaking strongholds; Thanksgiving--Expressing a grateful heart; Intercession--Standing in the gap with Jesus. What transforms these well-known elements of prayer into such a powerful force in Moms In Touch International? Fern Nichols introduces a way of praying that energizes, creates an appetite for intimacy with God, overcomes spiritual paralysis, eliminates fear, unveils the heart and character of God and transforms the pray-er s life and perspective. She teaches how to pray effectively with others, how to prepare for the spiritual battles that swirl when prayer is on the move, how to persist in prayer in the face of hopelessness and despair, and how to use Scripture for effective prayer. Changing Your World through Prayer will do just that. God hears. God acts. God moves. God works."

ENCOURAGING & FUN TO READ Sep 12, 2006
If you are looking to be inspired in your life of prayer, and in the importance of prayer for your family, you will be blessed by reading this book. About 8 years ago I myself experienced the power to Moms praying as we gathered each week with other Moms to pray for our children and husbands! WOW! The prayer group I am in now is different, but this book brought back so many fond memories of God's power and faithfulness seen week by week specifically in our families and for our children. Praying with all the other Moms was probably one of the greatest impacts on my Christianity and prayer life. As we pray, God reveals to our chilren, ourselves and those watching HIS DIVInE CHARACTER, POWER & LOVE! And, I am praising the LORD, that as Fern says in this book, God is STILL ANSWERING OUR PRAYERS, even after all these years! We may see some results right away, but when we don't it's very helpful to have a group to help you persevere, and IMPERATIVE to learn to PRAY GOD'S WILL THROUGH PRAYING SCRIPTURE, receiving the LORD's STRENGTH TO STAND FIRM & PERSEVER NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES TO RECIEVE THAT FOR WHICH GOD HAS PROMPTED US TO ASK! In this book she does a beautiful job of encouraging with Scripture and true stories, as well as defining our roles and the importance AND NECESSITY OF PRAYER! In speaking of the influence that her Mom had on her, surely shows that PRAYER DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE! God wants to bless our children, but we must invite Him into their lives and circumstances, until they can do so. Even then, it is God's highest and holiest calling as a Mom to pray for our children, inviting His Power and Provision into their hearts! There are times, we as parents will all need encouragement in our lives of prayer, refocusing not on the circumstances, but on our ALMIGHTY & POWERFUL GOD-this will bring you such encouragement! You will be blessed to read this, and EVEN MORE BLESSED TO DO WHAT SHE WRITES ABOUT!
