Item description for The Invitation (Mustard Seed) by Nancy Moser...

Julia, Walter, Kathy, and Natalie: four ordinary people with little in common. Until each of them receives a small, white invitation from an anonymous sender. It reads: "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed...Nothing will be impossible for you. Please come to Haven, Nebraska." At first, they all resist. But amazing circumstances convince them that they should heed the call and go to Haven. In this rerelease of The Invitation, Nancy Moser crafts a captivating story of everydaypeople who come to realize that even a small faith, combined with a heart led by God, can change the world

(Elizabeth Barrett Browning.) Nancy earned a degree in architecture, traveled extensively in Europe, and has performed in numerous theaters, symphonies, and choirs. Reviews - What do customers think about The Invitation (Mustard Seed)?

Not Moser's Best  May 27, 2007
I have read several of Moser's books, and especially liked the Time Lottery series. I ordered The Invitation because of the good reviews and was very disappointed. Perhaps I have read too much Moser, because I am beginning to see the same basic template in all her work. Anyway, the characters in this book are very Disneyesque, and I could barely get through it. The plot was so predictable - so why bother. I own the next book in this series and just could not get into it. I gave both books away.
A terriffic book  Oct 11, 2005
This book really is a fun book to read. The use of scripture gives you something to really think about in your day. The charactures are so likeable that you want to continue after the book is done. So then you can read the other 2 books of the series! All of the books are really good. Everyone should read the mustard seed series and then wear your pin proudly.
Nothing is impossible  Jul 3, 2003
In reading "The Invitation" I was invited into a new style of Christian fiction. Much of what I've read previously has focused on pedestrian romances, historical drama and Christians who lead such perfect lives that they just seem "far too good to be true". Nancy Moser introduces five very ordinary characters, each with real fears, doubts and problems. In the very ordinariness of these people, Moser is able to show the impact of God in their lives and their growth as they come to know more about who God is and to walk out in their faith. Throughout the book I found that my own life and faith was challenged and that my understanding of God grew through witnessing the experiences of the five visitors to Haven. If you want a book that is only good for gathering dust please look again. If instead you want a powerfully dramatic book which offers the possibility of growth in your faith then this is one for you.
Might be better than "Left Behind" series!  Aug 31, 2001
Here's a "real page turner" that will have a hard time putting down as you read about the lives of five people who are invited to a Kansas town for a special meeting.

Very, very thought provoking. You like the follow-up books, too. #2 - The Quest; #3 - The Temptation.

More thought provoking than "Left Behind" series  Aug 29, 2001
You may "pull an all-nighter" when you start reading this book. The author held my interest, entertained me, and was thought provoking at the same time. A story of 5 different people who are invited to meet in a small Kansas town to explore their purpose in life.
Each of the 5 people has a distinct character. One of the 5 is a homeless person who ends up with a suprise background. This book is the first of a three book series with a forth book on the way.
Caution...this book may change the way you view your life and purpose as well as the life and purpose of others.
