Publishers Description Written by the author of the best-selling Francis: The Journey and the Dream, this brief meditation describes Francis' method of prayer. Francis considered this three-fold path to God a precondition for anyone wishing to achieve a spiritual interior life. The path has three loves which are really the same: loving God through loving others, loving nature, and loving one's self. Focusing on the Other through love is the very center of Franciscan thought. How we love and the extent of that love then teaches us how to pray.

Reviews - What do customers think about The Threefold Way of Saint Francis (Illumination Books)?
Short and excellent piece by Murray Bodo Feb 10, 2008
Bodo's gentle reflective style was so engaging that I gave it as a gift to 3 friends. He and his writing truly embody the spirit of Francis of Assisi. He puts his heart into it.
An appetizer of the Franciscan charism. Aug 3, 2005
Truthfully, this merits closer to 3.5 stars. The reader can expect the same mystical, romance-filled style from Father Murray here with a very specific formula to follow Francis. Just as the appetite is whetted though, the text ends. Expect Bodo to briefly touch on his three prong approach in the 38 page "booklet". If you're after a Fransican review or a "Reader's Digest" version this is a nice read for one sitting. If you're after something more substantial and in-depth then look for his previous book, "The Way of St. Francis".
