Item description for His Kingdom Come: An Integrated Approach to Discipling the Nations and Fulfilling the Great Commission by Jim Stier, Richlyn Poor & Lisa Orvis...
Overview Jesus' final words to his disciples ring down through the ages: preach the gospel to every individual and disciple every nation. Preach the gospel? Got it. But what does it mean to disciple the nations? Do I preach or teach? To individuals or groups of people? What exactly did Jesus want me do do? Come explore these questions through Scripture, history, and the ideas and experiences of those who are actively engaged in discipling nations. You'll discover that God's kingdom comes in and through many ministries, vocations, and locations-from university campuses to developing regions, in kitchens and boardrooms, through government, journalism, and the arts. All followers of Christ, not a select group, are needed to bring God's grace and truth to individuals, cultures, and nations, to do the works God prepared in advance for us to do. Jesus' words are for each of us, wherever we are and whatever God has gifted us to do. What does it look like for you, for the body of Christ worldwide, to respond passionately and creatively to the call of God in our day to see every person and every nation transformed?

Reviews - What do customers think about His Kingdom Come: An Integrated Approach to Discipling the Nations and Fulfilling the Great Commission?
An important missiology book Nov 13, 2009
This impressive volume (almost 500 pages) covers a lot of ground in missiology. It is divided into six parts: (1) Introduction, (2) What the Bible Says, (3) History of Discipling Nations, (4) Philosophy of Ministry, (5) Strategy, (6) Conclusion. It would be excellent reading for pastors and missions leaders as well as MDiv students studying current perspectives on missions. All Christians would certainly benefit from reading the book; it is readable and informative and offers a broad view of how every Christian can spread the gospel and impact and shape society at large.
In a review in International Journal of Frontier Missiology, Dr. Ralph Winter of the US Center for World Missions stated, "I am very excited about this book. It is important evidence of a major organization [Youth With A Mission] turning very gradually and definitely into a nation-building kingdom type of mission, in addition, of course, to the ongoing stress on personal evangelism." Dr. Winter recommended that His Kingdom Come be used as the text book for a new missions course.
