Item description for In His Image: Reflecting Christ in Everyday Life by Michael Wilkins & Melody Carlson...
Overview What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus? The ultimate goal of discipleship is to be like the Teacher - to be like Jesus Himself. Every Christian wants to understand what that means. But even if we understand it, is it possible? Michael Wilkins asserts that it's not only possible, it's a life that all Christians are called to - not just a select few. So why do we so seldom experience it? Like the early disciples, our lives can radically change. If we want to follow Jesus, we can become like Him. Learn what it means to walk with Jesus and reflect His image to the real world.
Publishers Description The ultimate goal of discipleship is to be like Jesus. But is that even possible? Our difficulty often lies in not clearly understanding who Jesus is, not recognizing the resources available to us as God's children, or not believing who we are to be as Christ's followers. This book can help define our identity in Christ and refuel our passion to be like Him.

Reviews - What do customers think about In His Image: Reflecting Christ in Everyday Life?
A book for all disciples Oct 13, 2005
Dr. Michael Wilkins, an excellent New Testament scholar, does a great job of writing to the church. In His Image takes Wilkins area of expertise, "disicpleship", and deals with the issues we face as we try to "make disicples of all nations" in our church today. It is a great read for a group or individual study, and a must read when thinking through the issues on discipleship. It is clear throughout the book that Wilkins has spent his academic life working through the questions of discipleship, and his arguments are fair, developed, and highly informed. This is one of the books that if the whole church read we would have much less damage control to do as leaders.
