Reviews - What do customers think about Redeeming Failure: A Discipleship Journal Bible Study?
Failure is your friend. Oct 29, 2008
Failure. It has become another "F" word to us. How many times in your life have you experienced failure? More times than you care to remember? Has failure, whether in your personal or professional life, left you feeling defeated, incompetent, humiliated? Ever wonder why failure is a common part of life? Just what is failure, anyway? Most of us would do anything to avoid experiencing failure.
Author Michael M. Smith has written an excellent bible study guide that addresses the topic of failure. Redeeming Failure is based on a compilation of articles written for Discipleship Journal, a publication of NavPress. The articles are combined with bible scripture, discussion questions and learning activities. This eight part study examines what failure is, why we allow failure to defeat us, and how we can use our failures to grow and succeed. The study guide is well-written and can be used either in a small group setting or for personal study.
As I worked through Smith's bible study, I gained a new perspective on my failures and how I can grow from them. There is no way to avoid failure. However, by developing a good understanding of what failure is and how to apply the lessons learned from it, we can learn to use failure as a stepping stone to personal growth and understanding. Let failure become your tutor, not your tormentor.
