Overview "Challenging the religious system with a call for radical change"
Are you tired of the spiritual status quo? Are you convinced that something is wrong with the "religious system"? Would you like to help spearhead large-scale change?
This book looks at the need for a spiritual revolution not only in the Church but ultimately in the world. In a dynamic and lively writing style, Dr. Michael Brown exposes erroneous practices and beliefs popular today, challenging you to make some radical transformations. He exposes the biblical pattern of leadership, what is and is not cultlike, the meaning of true discipleship, the Jewish roots of our faith, and other provocative issues facing the Church today. With its timely and revealing message, this book will be a welcome corroboration of the revolution already taking place in your church-or a penetrating wake-up call to action.

Needs to go farther... Jan 26, 2009
I just finished this book. Wow! In many instances I thought that Michael Brown had actually been in a church I was in and had "bugged" the services. What is both sad and encouraging is that the pastoral abuses he mentions in one chapter helped me feel like I wasn't alone...yet, at the same time I was broken-hearted that these actions are so common that Dr. Brown was able to articulate this situation on behalf of so many. We clearly do need a revolution in the church and Dr. Brown's book is a clarion call for the whole body of Messiah regardless of who they are or how they are serving in their local assembly.
I would've liked Dr. Brown to have given more practical suggestions on how to accomplish or begin this process. I felt it was a little weak in that area. It was only for this reason that I gave it just four stars. Overall, Dr. Brown's book is a must read! I recommend it highly.
A Challenge To Repent and Seek Jesus in Truth! Apr 24, 2005
Dr. Michael Brown holds nothing back in this book. He lays it all out for the reader to see. It seems nothing sacred is left untouched in this book from our prayerlessness, apathy at winning souls, our attitude toward revival, and our status quo Christianity. Dr. Brown takes the sword of the Spirit and drives it deep into the heart (Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12).
The book will challenge you if you are satisfied with your Christian life. I believe we should never come to a place where we are "happy in Jesus." We should always be hungry for more of God's Spirit in us, desperate for the presence of God in our fellowships, and praying earnestly for the lost. Dr. Brown puts his finger on all that holds back the presence of God. He is hungry for Jesus to be lifted up in His Church as the true head (Colossians 1:15-18; 1 Timothy 6:15-16). This book stirs up the cry for true repentance and a hunger for holiness in the Church of Christ. A great book for all true disciples of Jesus.

If you have read John Bevere's Book on "Under Cover" then you need to read this book. John Bevere brings good points but this book will bring other points that Bevere does not address.
We need a REVOLUTION!!! Sep 6, 2003
This book was an eye opener for me, even after graduating from F.I.R.E. (Dr Brown's school). In the past I had a bad attitude toward the church, as it is right now. But in this book Dr Brown shows that having an attitude isn't going to help anything. We must love each other, this is what the church is about. But instead the American church has turned into a bunch of backbiters, complainers and gossipers, just what Paul warned us not to become in the New Testament. We need a revolution in the church!!!
