Item description for Let's Get Rowdy by Michael James Martineau...
Written by former agent for the stars Michael Martineau, "Let's Get Rowdy!" is both a novel containing an authentic, revealing, insider behind-the-scenes look at the wild, often scandalous, 70's Beatle influenced rock music explosion in its heyday--a story jammed with never-before-disclosed facts and figures pertaining to every detail of how the global rock tours actually take place, including the vast sums of money made, lost, and in many cases lavishly squandered. It is the story of the exploitation and near demise of a famous British rock star naively caught in the hedonistic world of superstars, supertours and superthrills, swirled around a very special love story. Although the storyline was created in a fictional format, Martineau's telling of this roitous tale involved firsthand interactions with former clients like: Led Zeppelin, Joe Cocker, Black Sabbath and The Who. Currently the only other edition of this novel was printed overseas while Martineau lived in the Virgin Islands. Published solely to test market the story, the book quickly sold out three printings by word of mouth only, attracting two movie offers and a Japanese book deal.

Reviews - What do customers think about Let's Get Rowdy?
Not just a great story, a must read for music lovers & those in the biz Dec 31, 2007
Martineau is one of the few people who truly saw it all and is still here to tell the story - with Let's Get Rowdy, he takes readers on a rare all-access tour of what it was like during the height of the rock revolution and British invasion when Martineau shaped and guided the careers of some of the true legends. Let's Get Rowdy offers an entertaining & tragically accurate insider's perspective of the real story "behind-the-scenes" of this business we have all learned to love and hate. Between the outrageous antics and wild parties and the loyalty, love and ultimate betrayal that envelop the explosion of one of the most talented musicians to grace a stage, Let's Get Rowdy pulls the cloak on the rarely told story of the ugly side of the music business filled with greed and corruption. While I cheered for Martineau's hero Billy Bud, my stomach turned as the talent and innocence of the young singer were continually exploited by those he trusted. I laughed at the scenes of debauchery, reveled in the success of Billy Bud and cried for the loss of innocence and the discovery and survival of a truly amazing love. Amid all the recent controversy about digital music and the RIAA, after reading Let's Get Rowdy, readers will think twice about who is the perpetrator of the bigger piracy and thievery in the music business. Let's Get Rowdy is a must read for musicians, music lovers and any person with a heart, a soul and an appreciation for the gift of music and for the passion that drives artists to do what they do." I read this from cover to cover in one sitting. And its a big book. It's a great story, full of drama and characters. There were some great people around and some real sleezes as well...but that was what the Rock and Roll scene was like. You can tell that the author really was there. It would make a great movie.
