Reviews - What do customers think about Volume 3?

off the hook  Mar 16, 2006
This CD was good from beginning to end. I didn't even know this CD existed until I saw it at a music store. After listening to it I'm glad I purchased it. I really like MOS and knew I wasn't going to be disappointed. They produce quality music and out of the four CDs they made, this by far is their best. The CD opens up with the interlude called "Prayer Changes Things", which is more like a song that encourages you not to give up and have faith in God. After that the CD just keeps getting better. The songs are just beautiful and they kind of have that R&B/contemporary gospel vibe. The two uptempo tracks "Gotta Grip" and "MOS P.P" are songs you can dance to and are one of my favorites. Other songs I enjoyed were "So In Love", All of My Days", "He Cares", and "Always There". These songs were slower but still beautiful. MOS can really sing and I just love Isaac Carree's voice. This album was just simply off the hook. If you get it you know what I mean. If you don't have this CD by MOS, I recommend that you get it. You should not be disappointed because I really believe this was their best album.
Outstanding album!!!! Their best work to date...............  Oct 20, 2004
I agree with one reviewer in that Men Of Standard have a more "urban" (ugh! I hate that word) sound on this album, but hey, they still sound fantastic. I think it's their best to date. There is no "Anointed Song" or "Yet Will I Trust In Him" type songs on this LP that really cause you to look within yourself, but the songs that come the closest have to be "Prayer Will" or "Always There". Please, "Prayer Will" ain't no interlude! Anyway, the reason I said this is their best to date is for the simple fact that I had more songs from this album on my repeat button than any of their previous efforts. These songs included the aforementioned "Prayer Will", "Love", "So Beautiful", "Closest Friend", and "He Cares". I love the urban (ugh!) M.O.S. but I hope they don't turn into rappers or anything like that for their upcoming efforts because that would be just wrong, wrong, wrong. Other notables include "Praise Party", "All Of My Days", and "Back To You". Men Of Standard, keep doing what ya'll doing, because you always touch this brother with your sincere delivery. Praise God that you are singing gospel and not wasting your talent in the world. Stay true to God and keep being Men Of Standard.
Worth a listen  Sep 7, 2004
This album is quite good and has different highlights. It would have been nice to see someone featured on it. (Dawkins and Dawkins are on it but you wouldn't even know unless you read the credits). My criticisms would have to be - lack of authentic instruments. Only one track has live drums for example. Secondly, more upbeat tracks should have been made. Out of the 13 I'd say 70% is mellow. But maybe that's just me?

PRAYER WILL: I don't exactly know why it's been called an interlude but this track is whoa! I play this in my mum's car - everywhere. I think what makes it the bomb is the way you hear harmonies on the first track unlike so many of these boy groups. When did you ever hear B2K harmonise? Lol. 10/5.
COUNT IT ALL JOY: Nice and upbeat Got an old school feel bearing in mind this album was released in 2002.
SO IN LOVE: It's not bad but it's not great. A bit boring to be honest.
ALL OF MY DAYS: This is better - it has more structure. A slow song of commitment. I can't help like this.
HE CARES: Another favourite. By the end of it you can't help but listen to it again. I think it's the bit that goes `I know that He really does care' that gets me. Beautiful.
LOVE: Because there are so few uptempo songs on this CD you appreciate them when they come. This has more of a commercial appeal but it's a cool song anyhow.
SO BEAUTIFUL: I don't know why but Usher's `Nice and Slow' comes to mind whenever I listen to this. The first verse in both songs are VERY similar. The backing harmonies are amazing on this one. Tonex's range is being challenged. They do some crazy high singing lol.
ALWAYS THERE: The lyrics shine more than the music on this one as well as Michael Bacon's vocals. The song is good fullstop/period.
GOTTA GRIP: Boy where do I start with this one? One of the few faster one's and it's everything contemporary gospel should be. Especially the pre-chorus hook.
BACK TO YOU: I personally don't think it's that great but at the end of the day it's better than a lot of music out there.
MOS P.P: Think of `Summertime' Will Smith style. Very nineties.
CHANGE IS GONNA COME: Once again, not that special. There are better songs on the CD.
CLOSEST FRIEND: Now this is what I'm talking about! For the intro they borrow harmonies that Commissioned did years ago. This is the song with real instruments backing and I think it makes it that much more special. 10 outta 5 for this song.
Bangin!  Apr 12, 2004
I dig this CD! From "Prayer Will" to "Closest Friend", I thought this was a solid album. I found "Volume III" to be an improvement over "Feels Like Rain" on the whole. This album is urban contemporary gospel, make no mistake! I thought the tracks were pretty good. An additional PAJAM or Fred Hammond track could have possibly improved the album. My favorites are So Beautiful, Change Is Gonna Come, Gotta Grip and the aforementioned joints. I pray that this album and other urban contemporary gospel albums like it, go above and beyond and reach their intended audience!
Just A Nobody Who Loves Jesus  Apr 2, 2004
I Loved This Cd Since The First Time I Heard It. I Use To Be Stuck On Prayer Will, And Back To You But Now I Love The Whole Cd The Songs That Stand Out To Me Are *All My Dayz, He Cares, *So Beautiful, Always There, *Back To You, *Change Is Gonna Come, and *Closet Friend; Nice Slow For The Slow Tempo Lovers. I Like Songs That Are Slow With Good Meaning If You're not Saved For Real Saved Not That He Say She Say Saved I'm Talking About Really Saved That I Have Changed My Whole Life Saved I Don't Sin Anymore Saved Which Includes Everything That Is Not HOLY That Is The Reason You Can't Feel Good Gospel Music When You Hear It You Don't Understand What It Means Or Why The People Made The Songs In The Manner They Did You 're Really Lost And Before You Listen To Gospel Music Again Check Your Life First.Oh One Day I'll Be The Artist You Are Talking Good Or Bad About. TO GOD BE THE GLORY
