Item description for The Polyamorous Princess by Melodee Aaron...
A passionate, spoiled princess. A brilliant intelligence officer. A tough marine. Princess Allison, the coddled daughter of the Emperor of Mankind, is irreparably disturbed by the vicious war with the cat-like Arupians. Her social life is in shambles. Her friends are all on duty. Allie spends her days teaching old American history at the University or else hiding out in the royal Safe Room. Then two fascinating men enter her life. Second Lieutenant Damon Hyde is a swaggering and respected marine. Most people think he's fearless-except for Allie, who falls for his vulnerability. Lieutenant JG Harrison Douglas is brilliant. Most people think he's also crazy-except for Allie, who is drawn to his eccentricity. Brought together by fate, Allie falls in love, torn between the two men who love her and fight to win her. As new and disparate emotions blossom, Allie, Damon, and Harry are pulled into a passionate, polyamorous relationship. The three are forced to come to terms with their love for one another as they rely on their wits and skills, not only for their own survival, but also for all mankind on His Majesty's Star Ship Boone. Reviews - What do customers think about The Polyamorous Princess?
Hard to get through May 5, 2008
This book was for some reason hard for me to read. I scanned a lot and then just couldn't get interested in it. The heroine didn't seem that great that 2 guys would want her. I couldn't see the appeal. I like the idea behind the book though.
A Good Time Mar 27, 2008
This was a interesting but vey entertaining book. If you want to read about plural families, this is the book. I'm told this is what you would call this type of family. This author has a vivd imigination. She keeps you entertained from the very beginning. This book was a good read set in a futuristic setting.
author has potential Feb 16, 2008
desperately needs a more skilled editor. author rambles story loose lacks language skills heroine? superficial at best editor lacks spelling skill and allows too many tense errors typos extensive and annoying. author has potential if publisher provides better support and author does better research in tech aspects and in human relationships.
4.5 Blue Ribbons from Romance Junkies! Aug 19, 2007
Allie is the daughter of the Emperor of Mankind. While having princess status is often times fun, she finds herself bored with nothing to do but teach ancient American history and hide out in the family's safe room. The result of a polyamorous relationship, Allie wants more out of life than what she has. Taking the advice of one of her mothers, Allie decides to go to a club and possibly meet someone new. When she steps into the club, she is immediately drawn to a muscular, blond marine and finds herself intrigued. When the handsome marine haltingly asks her to dance, she accepts his offer and steps into his arms.
Damon Hyde is a marine fighting in the war against the Arupians. Going to the club with friends for some down time, he is completely drawn to the captivating woman who just walked in. He wants her with every ounce of his being but finds himself blushing and stammering like a schoolboy. When she invites him back to her suite, Damon realizes who she is and almost panics. Allie soothes Damon and they share a romantic interlude and make plans to meet again.
His co-workers and bosses perceive Harrison "Harry" Douglas as a genius. Not understanding why they think that, Harry enjoys the status because it allows him leniency with things normal military men are unable to get away with. It is while trying to solve a coded Arupian document that Harry comes across a beautiful seductress. As they talk, Harry finds himself falling under the spell that is Allie. There is just one problem. Harry learns that he isn't the only man in Allie's life.
Fate takes a deadly turn when, in the course of their relationship, Allie and Damon are separated. Allie turns to Harry and finds herself loving him totally and completely. It is at this time that Damon is found alive and Allie has to come to grips that while she loves Harry, she also loves Damon. Unsure of what to do, she looks back at her life as the child of polyamorous parents and comes to the only possible solution.
THE POLYAMOROUS PRINCESS takes a different look at the ménage relationship. I especially enjoyed the realistic portrayal of the men in the story trying to come to grips with Allie's feelings for the other as well as the preening and posturing that goes along with trying to make the other man go away. Once they accepted that they could be a family, the rest was gravy. Each character was remarkably diverse and I liked how Ms. Aaron portrayed their differences. For a completely unique take on a ménage, or rather, polyamorous relationship, THE POLYAMOROUS PRINCESS won't disappoint.
