Reviews - What do customers think about Joy and Truth of Tithing?
Promoting one Old Testament law and not all 600 plus? Sep 10, 2009
Tithing is one Old Testament Covenant law among six hundred and thirteen others. These laws were given to the Jewish nation and included in their Covenant with God. Gentiles were not even included till after the Cross and came in under the New Covenant of Grace and free blessing by having faith in Christ. James 2:10, Galatians 3:10 proclaims that to break just one would make you guilty of breaking them all. In Deut. 27:26 God's curse was upon the children of Israel for breaking just one of the over 600 laws of Moses which also included the tithe law. In Deut. 14:22 the tithe was food not gold or silver coins. The food was to go to feed the poor, orphans, widow and Levites. Levites owned no property so they were to be taken care of by the tithe which was similar to our taxes in this day. Scripture is clear that s worker is worthy of their wages, so financially support your local Ministers but I pray that they will stop taking Scriptures out of context which leads to fear, pressure and an entitlement mindset. There is joy in giving the way Paul the Apostle Instructed was "as one decides in his own heart and without pressure or duty," 2nd Corinthian 9:7 Jesus fulfilled the whole law so we would not suffer the penalty of breaking any of them. "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law and was made a curse for us", Gal 3:13. Know and read your bible so you will not get it twisted! Hebrews said over 13 times that we have a "new and better covenant called Grace for every need in your life". Hebrews 8:6. Jesus said to simply Seek, Ask and Knock (free of charge)! Christians should give the faithfulness of God the credit for answered prayers not their tithe payments! If the spotlight has moved away from the Cross to works of the law like the Old Covenant Tithe law. Whose robbing whom? Jesus already paid in full your debts for every need, healing, deliverance ,etc this fact alone should give you joy in voluntary giving Him all the glory due Him alone and by the giving of your time talent and treasure!
