Reviews - What do customers think about Love Worth Giving?
This book changed my life! Feb 1, 2007
This book helped me work through past pain and bitterness toward people who betrayed me. I never thought I could forgive them for what they did. I carried around pain for such a long time. I then read this book. I soon began to see that Jesus loves me just where I am. Even with all the things I've done. I have to forgive others and love them even when they hurt me if I am to expect Christ to do that for me.

Well written, inspiring. Max Lucado has yet again made us see what is important.
LOVE IS ALL WE NEED!!! Nov 27, 2006
"Love goes the distance...........and Christ travelled from limitless eternity to be confined by time in order to become one of us. He didn't have to. He could have given up. At any step along the way, he could have called it quits."
Max Lucado is in a league of his own. I find that Christian writers all have something unique about them in the various ways they put themselves over to us. So I will say that Max is extremely helpful in his teachings which he goes about with great humour, and wonderful stories and examples which we don't have to fathom out for ourself. He fathoms them out for us, from point A to Z. He elucidates the blurry and unclear points, intent on our understanding the parable when he is through. I thoroughly enjoyed A Love Worth Giving, and it caused me to take a harder look myself allowing me to open up my heart to God in a new way, and for a fresh annointing. Love is the answer to all things in our lives; so therefore, Jesus Christ must be all things and everything to us. After all he is absolutely a Beautiful, Lovely and Compassionate King. I am only 1/4 of the way through this book, but I think this is a MUST HAVE book for all believers, especially new ones. I myself have been born again for exactly 8 years this month, but I've been drifting for the last two of them and this book has really blessed me.
I agree with the unfavorable reviewer on one point, this book is very basic. But I for one think that sometimes we need to get back to the basics to start fresh. Everything doesn't have to be the most spiritual, the deepest, or the most profound to be moving and inspirational.
I started crying at word one (that's word one in the acknowledgements), and I couldn't figure out why. I said Lord, why am I crying, I haven't even really read anything yet. I'll never get through this is I'm crying the whole time. Well, the reason I was crying is because this book, these words, and the author are anointed. And that's important in my book. As I said, the book has really blessed me. So whoever you are, wherever you are, if your are a new Christian, or a veteran, this book should be apart of your collection. GET IT!
One of the most meaningful books I ever read. Nov 6, 2003
Max Lucado truly defines love. Not on the superficial levels. On the deepest levels. He uses humor and his every day life experience to show that we are loved (by God) and that we can love others althought sometimes loving is difficult.
