Item description for A Hat for Ivan (Lucado, Max) by Max Lucado & David Wenzel...
Overview On "Hatday," Ivan expects his father the hatmaker to present him with a hat that matches his character and talents, but he becomes confused when the other villagers also give him headgear more appropriate to their own interests.
All the grown-ups in Ivan's village wear a hat that shows what they love most. Because Ivan's father is the hatmaker, Ivan gets to watch his father create a hat that is perfect for each person. Ivan wonders what kind of hat he will have. Will he be a musician? A baker? A palace guard?
Ivan doesn't need to worry about his future because his father, the hatmaker who loves him most, shows him that there is only one hat-and one life-created just for him.

An original picturebook story Apr 7, 2005
Max Lucado's books for readers of all ages have made him one of the most popular writers of books for a Christian readership. Engagingly illustrated by David Wenzel, Lucado's A Hat For Ivan is an original picturebook story that wonderfully captures a very special truth -- everyone was made by God for a special purpose. This is the story of the hatmaker's son, who sees his father create the perfect hat for each person. But when Ivan is worried about his future, he tries on all sorts of hats - musician, baker, firefighter - and none of them seem to fit! The feel heavy and ridiculous, and make him feel tired. At the end of the day, his father offers him some choice words of wisdom; there will be a hat - and a life - meant just for him, based on what he most likes to do. Highly recommended.
