The Dr. I.Q. for the Catholic faith Jul 7, 2008
Our Sunday Visitor's Catholic Almanac 2008 (Our Sunday Visitor's Catholic Almanac) The one-stop shopping for a thumb-nail sketch of the Catholic faith. Includes biographies of saints, and lay/clerical persons, the world's nations and percentage of Catholics in each. Also serves as a "World Almanac" key to catholics and their beliefs and cross-generational materials for non-catholics. Describes in enough detail clerical and religious orders, their founders and mission fields. And the outreach of the faith in relation to other Christian and non-Christian belief systems.
A useful guide Mar 13, 2008
A useful guide which thoroughly covers the history and teachings of the Catholic Church. Since it is issued every year, one of its best features is events of the latest year. For those who are statistic conscious, statistics abound and give very useful knowledge. As to annulment statistics, I have a question? Of the 62,000 given worldwide, 39,000 are given in the United States. This disproportion opens the question of "why?" Perhaps the 2009 edition could answer the question and explain why?
