I can't seem to pass by a self-improvement book. Seems like there is always some gem of inspiration that I find in each. Here's what M.J. Ryan who wrote THE HAPPINESS MAKEOVER said about the book in her daily Happiness Booster email: "Now I know I probably sound like your mother, but motivational speakers Drs. Michael Mercer and Maryann Troiani, authors of Spontaneous Optimism, claim that if you learn to keep your head up, shoulders back and chest out, you'll feel better. "[W}hen you slouch, your mood takes somewhat of a dive. When you notice that, immediately straighten up. That is your first step to boost your mood." See for yourself."
A pithy, inspiring, informative, and a delightful read. Feb 8, 2002
An awesome read.
A very inspiring, staight to the point, excellently formatted, and easy to read and very uplifting book.
This book is filled with great advise and lots of excellent uplifting quotes.
This book contains much of the same information (but not nearly the same amount of information, or the broad area of topics) as you would find in Tony Robbins' Awaken The Giant Within, but in a very pithy, consise and easily readable format.
This book also helps you to have positve and optimistic relationships/marriage (having fun together is what's most memorable) and give tips on finances and investing in mutual funds.
There are many awesome quotes throughout the book that are set apart from the main text that you can read during an overview/preview/review.
"Optimistic people have high degrees of self-responsibility."
Consise, pithy, poignant, easily readable and very practicle and relevent. This book is very enjoying to read.
One of the best books I have read. One of the best self-help books I have ever read. It's belongs alongside in the same league or as a substitute (if you are only going to read one book, or if you don't spend a lot of time reading) for the other well known titles, i.e. "Think and Grow Rich," "Awaken the Giant Within" and others of the genre.
Finally, self-help that makes sense Sep 14, 1999
This tape, and the authors' book, is one of the few self-help books I read that gives advise that is not fluff. It offers practical and unique ways to make your mood and life improved. I thank them both.
One of the best self-improvements books I have read. Aug 5, 1999
Sponteneous Optimism is a well-written inspiration. The authors of this book put together easy to do tips and techniques that has taken my life to a better place. I've recommended it alot.
Is that all there is? May 12, 1999
This is not the book that i was looking for to help me to conquer a less than optimistic outlook on the world. I've read and own hundreds of books on various subjects and this is the literary runt of the litter. Insight? I've read better on bathroom walls. Skip it or better yet, read it in the store and make up your own mind. Fluff.
