Item description for Rules of the Game 2 by Mary Page, Peter Guthrie & Sloan Sable...
Overview In Rules of the Game we set out to write grammar series that would encourage students to discover that grammar is just another name for the patterns that exist in language. In our own teaching, we have discovered that students learn grammar more effectively if they can, in some sense, recreate the process by which rules and definitions begin with language and are not handed down from some invisible legislature.

Reviews - What do customers think about Rules of the Game 2?
Okay for learning Nov 10, 1998
As a student, I have used this book in my English class. It has a lot on the parts of speech, but it is only a good book otherwise.
Good for teaching/learning parts of speech Nov 10, 1998
This book has extensive exercises on learning the parts of speech. I have used this for most of my classes I have teached. The only reason I give it four stars is because it does not use the method I teach with.
