I highly recommend this book for anyone dealing with challenging events or decisions. I bought 10 copies and gave them to family and friends.
Chapter 8 - Embracing Reality made a huge impact on me as I struggled with the resentment, anger and frustration I felt from the results of divorce after 6 years of marriage. I learned to understand and accept all those negative emotions and let go of the pain. I was able to move on to an amazing relationship and exciting new goals. I learned to make the most of every day and really understand what I wanted in my life. When my partner of 3-1/2 years died in front of me unexpectedly I was devastated. With the foundation I had built from this book's wealth of knowledge, I was able to work through my grief and take care of my responsibilities. The NOW practices were really helpful to create focus when I felt overwhelmed with emotions and unable to function. I've learned so much from this book in the last 5 years, that I've recently started doing the exercises again as I explore new goals and relationships.
Beautifully Puts All the Pieces Together... Jun 30, 2008
I have already recommended this book to several clients and have used some of the very simple to understand yet effective exercises to help them create positive shifts in their lives. You gotta love that!
Mary Allen very wisely assembles the self-help puzzle so that it forms a clear picture instead of being a handful of pieces collected from various sources. I love her casual tone and the fact that she has the courage to share examples from her own life.
I will refer this book to my clients and anyone else who is looking to take control of their life and create powerful, lasting changes.

Treasure-trove of life-changing information Apr 21, 2008
I recently came across some old journals of mine and realized how very much my life has changed since reading The Power of Inner Choice. What a huge impact it's had on how I process my thoughts and feelings!
The way the book is broken down into manageable pieces highlighted with experiential exercises made it easy to digest and turned me into an active participant. In particular, Lesson #7, "Expand Your Ability To Receive," taught me powerful ways of moving through troubling emotions to a more peaceful place. Now the process is quick and painless.
I can't thank Mary enough. She is a blessing to me and to the world!

Transformation Apr 15, 2008
The program that is outlined in The Power of Inner Peace has been instrumental in helping me transform my life. I am so grateful to have found this program to use for my transformation. It is exactly what I was hoping for. I especially appreciate the power of the series of exercises the book takes us through. By completing these exercises and reading the spiritual ideas and thoughts in the book, I have arrived at better clarity in how I want to transform my life and what action steps I want to take. The inspired action list I still use and update even after a year of change, and the one-year-from -now-vision made me cry when I realized how much of it had come to pass after one year. I especially appreciated the series of exercises looking at the WHY we want to make the specific changes, and the EMOTIONAL MUSCLES we feel we need to develop to live that vision. I believe any person can make real changes in their life in his or her life by simply following this program.
Leading the Way to a Better Life Apr 3, 2008
So many self-help books are long on encouragement but short on detailed methodologies on how to make improvements really happen. This book is equally strong on both elements!
This book has had as great an impact on me as any other single book. Recommended to me by a friend, the first time I read this book, I so enjoyed it that I decided to have author, Mary Allen, as a guest on my Peak Performance radio show. Her interview, on my show, led me to sign-up for one of Mary's Group coaching programs that use this book as a foundation. And that Group coaching is stretching me in ways for which I am deeply grateful to Mary (and the members of our Group).
Through the weekly Group coaching, I have gotten to know this author beyond just the words on paper. Mary Allen is not only an author who walks the talk (something that is particularly important to me in the self-help genre), but is also one of the nicest people you will ever meet. She is the essence of what a good coach should be: caring, thoughtful, and very vigilant in balancing stretching with being supportive,
So...obviously I am biased in reviewing this book...but biased by the improvements I have gotten by working through Mary's thoughtful exercises that help one discover ways to be the best one can be. Not sure that is really bias as much as informed judgment based on actual results achieved from following Mary Allen's thoughtful approach to living a peaceful life of peak performance.
