This is an excellent book for the body of Christ. The book is timely and relevant for those confused by many of the issues that hinder spiritual growth. It is a valuable resource for new believers.
Comprehensive & Inspiring!!! Jun 15, 2006
This is very comprehensive book on Christian theology that covers all of the major topics that are relevant to a 21st Century reader who is curious about God in general and Christianity specifically. The author's theological positions are based solidly not only in scripture, but are logically derived by utilizing sound reasoning. This book addresses numerous "hot button" issues such as tithing, sin, fear, divine healing, human suffering, true worship, a divided church and God's purpose for our lives. Even though the book is packed with details and covers a lot of theological ground (which will appeal to the biblical scholar) it is written in easy to understand language and allows the non bible scholar to follow along and evaluate their own theology in the process. The book's strongest point is that it is truly inspired of God. As I was reading it for the first time, it seemed as if God himself was speaking directly to me - reassuring me that I was part of his family and that his love for all members of his family was unconditional. Unlike most other comprehensive theology books (that have an agenda), this one does not get bogged down in the mire of "law" & "doctrine" in order to "prove" that a particular denomination's beliefs are true while all others are in error. The author has demonstrated through a discussion of numerous theological issues that God desires to tell his people that he loves them, forgives them, and that most people ascribe negative qualities to him that are not part of his character. For a refreshing view of God that most don't find in church, read God 101.
